Swimming and water safety are essential components of the National Curriculum for Physical Education, with every child expected to leave primary school able to swim at least 25 metres, effectively use a range of strokes, and perform safe self-rescue in various water-based situations. Swim England’s national requirements emphasise the importance of ensuring children develop both swimming competence and the necessary knowledge to stay safe in and around water.
At Heathfield Swim School, we collaborate with local primary schools to deliver high-quality primary school swimming programmes at affordable rates.
Our experienced and qualified instructors provide engaging, structured swimming lessons that help schools meet National Curriculum and Swim England outcomes while building pupils’ confidence, technique, and water safety awareness. We understand the challenges schools face with budgets, staffing, and pool access, which is why we offer flexible, cost-effective packages tailored to each school’s needs.
In addition to curriculum swimming, we proudly support schools during RLSS Drowning Prevention Week by delivering interactive water safety workshops and lessons. These sessions educate children about the risks associated with water, how to stay safe in different environments, and what to do in an emergency, helping to equip pupils with essential life-saving knowledge both in and out of the pool.
