Our Story:
Heathfield Swim School began in 2018 with one heated outdoor pool at a local school and a big goal: to give the people of Heathfield the chance to learn to swim in a safe, supportive environment. Since then, we’ve grown to offer lessons at multiple local pools, helping more families across Heathfield, Sussex and the surrounding villages access high-quality swimming lessons close to home. What started as one pool and a small group of swimmers has become a thriving swim community built around confidence, fun, and water safety.
Why we do what we do:
We believe every child in Heathfield should have the opportunity to learn to swim — it’s a life skill, not a luxury. Swimming builds confidence, improves fitness, and most importantly, keeps children safe in and around water.
We’re passionate about keeping local pools in East Sussex active and well-used, so families don’t have to travel far for lessons. By teaching locally, we help protect valuable community facilities while giving children a place where they feel comfortable, capable, and proud of their progress.

We want today’s young swimmers to grow into confident, capable adults who love the water — and to make sure local families can enjoy these fantastic swimming facilities for many years to come.
What we offer:
1. School Swimming Lessons
We provide curriculum and enrichment swimming lessons for primary schools in Heathfield and surrounding East Sussex areas, helping children build water confidence and essential life-saving skills during the school day.
2. After-School Swimming Lessons
Our after-school swim lessons in Heathfield are perfect for busy families, giving children the chance to learn, improve, and have fun in the water after the school bell rings.
3. Holiday Swim Camps:
Our intensive holiday swimming courses run during school breaks and are ideal for boosting confidence, improving technique, or helping children move up a stage more quickly.

Looking for a unique celebration? We offer private family pool hire in Heathfield, perfect for birthdays and special occasions, with space for up to 20 swimmers.
Community Group - Pool Hires:
We support Scouts, youth groups, children’s homes, and local organisations in East Sussex with dedicated pool hire, giving more children access to swimming in a safe, supervised environment.
Community Fundraising & Events:
We work with local partners on fundraising events and community activities that help keep our Heathfield swimming pools running for future generations.

Our goal is simple: to make sure families can access safe, friendly, high-quality swim lessons close to home.
Our Lessons:
Our swimming lessons are for both Adults and Children in and around Heathfield, East Sussex. We focus on building strong foundations from the very beginning. We teach:
- Core swimming skills and stroke development
- Water confidence and safety awareness
- Fitness, coordination, and technique
Whether you or your child is just starting out or already confident in the water, our structured lesson programme helps them progress at their own pace. As they grow, swimmers can explore exciting pathways including competitive swimming, lifesaving skills, and artistic swimming.

Our friendly instructors are pros when it comes to swimming, and they're backed by awesome first aiders and eagle-eyed lifeguards. Together, they’re all about making sure your little ones are safe and happy in the water!

With more than 100 years of combined experience in swimming, lifeguarding, and pool management, our team is like a school of fish when it comes to water know-how! We’ve got the skills to help your child make waves and feel confident in every swim!

These are the perfect places for your little ones to dive into swimming fun!
Our Cozy Pools:
Our pools are just the right size for kids aged 4 and up! With warm water kept at a toasty 29-31 degrees, it’s the perfect place to learn and play without the shivers!
Our Fun Classes:
Every swimmer is unique, and we’re here to make sure your child gets the special attention they need. Our lessons are packed with fun, using games and activities that make learning to swim exciting and totally stress-free! Let’s make a splash together!
Let’s Share the Fun!
We team up with the awesome Friends of Cross In Hand and Friends of Maynards Green to open our pools for family fun and pool hires.
Family Splash Time:
Bring up to 2 households or a total of 10 people for some private pool fun! It’s perfect for a splishy-splashy family day out.
Pool Hires for 10 and more:
You can invite up to 20 people to the sites packed with fun and laughter—make it a day to remember!
External Bookings:
We’ve got great connections with local businesses and groups! If you’re interested in renting the pool for an event or activity, get in touch!
